Emotion Shapes the Fate of Immigrants and Refugees

If emotion is indeed so politically compelling, then leaders of the left must re-frame the debates over the global migrant crisis and US immigration in an emotionally compelling way. Doing so will combat contrasting emotional pleas from the right to close our borders to the people who most desperately need our help.

Honoring Victims and Survivors of Traffic Violence

After last weekend, we have all been scarred by traffic violence. Let’s not allow Skidmore to become a community where our scars go unnoticed. Let’s make changes for the better to our campus and to the Saratoga community.  Let’s honor this life lost and make this tragedy count for something because it is, after all, the least that we can do.

As students plan for next semester, we hear the recurring question, “what class do I take to fulfill X (general education requirement).” These conversations might soon become a thing of the past as the Skidmore Committee for Educational Policies and Planning (CEPP) is currently reviewing, discussing and proposing changes to the current general education requirements.
