The paper

The Skidmore News is Skidmore College’s student-run online newspaper. Originating in 1925, this leading campus authority has established an active following among students, faculty, and residents of Saratoga Springs. The paper strives to cover a wide array of collegiate, local, and national events; sections include News, Sports, Arts & Entertainment, Pulp (creative writing), and Opinions. In 2002 the Associated Collegiate Press awarded the newspaper first place for a four-year college weekly for special coverage of the community reaction to the September 11 attacks. We strive for the highest level of journalism and are always seeking stories that cover life at Skidmore, issues important to the student body, and coverage of the surrounding town of Saratoga Springs. Students can join us at our weekly pitch meetings on Mondays at 7:30 PM in the small conference room next to the information desk in Case Center.
