About us

The Skidmore News is Skidmore College’s student-run online newspaper. Originating in 1925, this leading campus authority has established an active following among students, faculty, and residents of Saratoga Springs. The paper strives to cover a wide array of collegiate, local, and national events, with the site drawing over 50,000 views per year; sections include News, Sports, Arts & Entertainment, Features, and Opinions. We strive to achieve the highest level of journalism and are always seeking stories that cover life at Skidmore, issues important to the student body, and coverage of the surrounding town of Saratoga Springs. Students can join us at our weekly pitch meetings on Mondays in our newsroom next to the information desk in Case Center.
