Endorsement for Henry Jaffe, Candidate for VP for Academic Affairs

The Skidmore News Editorial Board supports Henry Jaffe ’18 for his reelection bid as VP for Academic Affairs.  Jaffe is passionate about the issues he has covered for the last Academic year, and his experience will be beneficial to the students he proudly represents.  His strong commitment to ethics allows him to speak on behalf of the students, even when has personal reserves.  We wholly endorse his candidacy.

A Follow-up with the "Friends of Skidmore" Commission

A recently published SGA article featured the creation of a new commission called, “Friends of Skidmore” Commission on Sobriety and Recovery. The article focused on the formal legislation of the commission and covered the bylaws by Julia Budsey ‘19, SGA VP for Club Affairs, but did not explain the full scope of work and research that has contributed to the formation of this initiative.

Glotzbach Sends Mixed Message About Politics On Campus

Many faculty members expressed their surprise and concern following his remarks because of the political polarization.  The President skirted against the tenor of federal law that disqualifies nonprofits from political campaign activities.  His remarks may have also violated Skidmore’s commitment to inclusion.
