Hindsight is a funny thing
A funny, cruel, sardonic ghost.
Stalking you for every minute of every day,
The cruelest fact about hindsight, though,
Is that it never stalks you and tells you you’re wrong in the moment It’s never there to correct you as you’re making that mistake
The one that will haunt for the next 5 minutes
Or the next 50 years.
Hindsight is a funny, cruel, sardonic ghost
Laughing teasing taunting, and torturing your already battered soul Because it knows what you’re doing
Just doesn’t tell you until after
The house has already burned down,
The test already failed
The best friend already lost.
So what is the point of hindsight?
I’ve got no idea, but I regret hindsight almost every day
Hell, the only thing I do more than regret hindsight, is think about hindsight.
I guess that’s what makes it so cruel.
