What to Do Weekly: 12/12-12/20

Yes, it’s true, the semester is coming to an end. And while you may be excited for the beginning of break, a bit of sadness closes in as you realize this is the last What to Do Weekly for the semester. Enjoy.

#1) Celebrate with SEC. The Student Entertainment Committee, fondly known as SEC, is putting on a last-day-of-classes show featuring Snail Mail with Spud Cannon. The indie rock talent and Vassar-formed band will be taking over Falstaff’s tonight at 9pm, and the show is free and open to all.

#2) Write a meaningful letter. Join Feminist Action Network for their Black and Pink letter writing party TODAY from 12-5pm in Case. The club is working to brighten up the days of those currently or previously incarcerated, sending them letters in an effort to break down barriers between those inside and outside of prisons. What are you waiting for? Go now and write someone a nice letter!

#3) Surround yourself with dogs and donuts. In typical Skidmore fashion, the Peer Academic Coaches are bringing you the content you desire this Friday from 1-3pm in the library. Students can enjoy Dunkin’ Donuts treats while they cuddle up with some adorable pups. There really isn’t a better way to spend the end of your week.

#4) Find the perfect holiday gift. The Saratoga Farmers’ Market is back with their annual Holiday Market, happening this Saturday, Dec. 15 through Dec. 29. From 9am-1pm, guests can browse tons of local goods – from chocolate and marinades to clothing and jewelry.

#5) What the folk? Caffe Lena is bringing the festive cheer to Saratoga with their Holiday Folk Show. With both a Saturday 8pm show on Dec. 15 and a next-day matinee at 3pm, this silly sing-along is guaranteed to guide you into the holiday season with plenty of goodwill—and lots of fiddle sounds.
