What to do Weekly: Oct. 31 - Nov. 6

Even as lower temperatures approach, you shouldn’t stay inside away from all these fun events. Here is this week’s What to Do Weekly:

#1) Celebrate Halloween. Ok, perhaps the majority of the student body indulged in Halloween celebrations this past weekend, but there are still some spooky concerts to attend at Falstaff’s. WSPN is hosting a Prince cover band tonight from 7:30-9pm and Lively Lucy’s is having an “Electric Spookaloo” tomorrow at 8pm with performances by Marcia Custer and Machine Listener.

#2) Eat good food. That’s right- it’s Restaurant Week here in Saratoga Springs starting November 5-11. This annual event brings you 3-course meals for $20-$30 at participating restaurants, and some lunch specials for $10. Participating restaurants include Cantina, Boca Bistro, Chianti, Forno, Scallions and many more. Check out the full list, and don’t miss these other fun food-related Skidmore events: Asian Cultural Awareness club’s Night Market, where students can try delicious multi-cultural dishes and see live performances, from 6-8pm on Nov. 4 in Case; and the Sustainability Office’s free Harvest Dinner, where students can enjoy local food from 5-7pm on Nov. 5 in Spa.

#3) See a performance of Night of the Living Dead. iTheater Saratoga will be presenting a live rendition of this classic film from Nov. 2-3 at 8:30pm at the National Museum of Dance on Broadway. Tickets run from $15 for students to $25 for adults, and is sure to be a frighteningly good time.

#4) Try out yoga in a cave. Salt cave, that is. Yoga instructor Nikki Rogers will be hosting a beginner-level Hatha yoga class from 6-7pm next Monday inside a salt cave — complete with 70,000 lbs. of Himalayan salt. The cave is located in Latham.

#5) Vote. You had to see it coming. Election Day is coming up on Tues. Nov. 6, and it’s finally time to cast your vote. Want to know what’s going to be on the ballot?
