What to Do Weekly: 3/06 - 3/13

There’s no reason to miss out on fun events just because Spring Break is around the corner. We’ve also made sure to include some for students who may be staying on campus over the week.

#1) Men on Boats are still in port! The show, which reimagines American history in a modern context, does not close until March 7. Get a ticket for you and your matey before it’s too late!

#2) Poetry Open-Mic at Caffe Lena. After a pre-open mic poetry discussion led by Mary Ann Rockwel of Saratoga Springs Public Library at 6pm, the floor opens at 7pm. Featured poet Sarah Giragosian, author of the poetry collection Queer Fish, will speak for 20 minutes.

#3) Pre-Saint Patrick’s Day fun. Ballston Spa’s little theatre will be continuing its tradition of music and fun on March 8 at 7pm. The night promises to be filled with overwhelming irish-ness for all ages. Tickets can be purchased here.

#4) 6th Annual New York Craft Brewers Festival (A.K.A. another food related festival, but this time with beer). For our of-age readers, this event hosts 70 New York Breweries and brewers from all around the state. The tickets are on the pricier side ($35 for the early bird, and it only goes up from there), but participants will get to experience over 150 beers, some hard to find and/or award winning.

#5) Hannaford MAAC-n-Cheese Fest. Yes, another food related festival. But not only that, another mac-in-cheese related festival. We know, you love us. The annual event will take place at the Albany Capital Center on March 11 from 4-8pm. Combining basketball with local restaurants and craft beer tastings (for our of-age readers), you won’t want to miss this.
