This year’s Juried Student Exhibition, being held at the Schick Gallery until March 6th, shows chosen works of students in varying Studio Art courses. The art ranges from drawings to sculptures to fabric works, all following various guidelines set by the gallery. Many of the works have won awards given by the juror, Susan Meyer, Assistant Professor of Art at the College of Saint Rose, for outstanding work and were announced at the opening reception.
All of the works of art showcase the incredible talent that Skidmore students have. Each piece is significantly different from the next, showing the true style of techniques that range from student to student. Below are a few of my personal favorites, but the gallery showcases even more talent. There is a sense of connection that viewers feel when they see artwork created by their fellow peers that makes this exhibit even more special; one that is a must-see.
