A Skidmore student, who wished to remain anonymous, actually listened to a movie review he saw in the paper, culminating in him physically going to see the movie in the theater last weekend. Mentioning the review in his interview, the student said, “I saw the review a couple of days ago and thought it looked interesting.” The student went on to say, “The reviewer gave the movie and 8.5 out of 10, which is pretty good.”
Apparently, though, the student wouldn’t have gone to see the movie if he had had something better to do. “I really had nothing better to do,” he said. “My friend canceled on me so I figured I’d just go see a movie.”
Asked whether or not he thought his reviews actually made an impact in people’s lives, the reviewer simply replied, “I guess so.”
The student declined to say whether or not he actually enjoyed the movie he saw in the theater, but said he’d consider going back again if another movie looked entertaining.
